darfur

i've heard bits and pieces of what's going on, but i never took the time to really sit down and found out what's going on or really care. but thanks to one of my idols, jon foreman, my eyes were opened. a few days ago he just finished his 3-day fast of water only to raise awareness for the situation in darfur. he did it for a project called darfur fast for life which was started by mia farrow's 12-day hunger strike from april 27 - may 8. due to her declining health she was forced to stop, but she passed the baton onto others. now over 500 people have joined the fast and 96 are fasting today. here is a video for the project:

for more information about the fast and the situation in darfur you can check out the project's website at http://fastdarfur.org/. even if you don't want to or can't fast please help spread awareness about the tragic situation in darfur. thanks,

-michael
