procrastinating- to postpone doing something, especially as a regular practice
"the most effective way to do it, is to do it."
-Amelia Earhart
how true is that. and believe me i see its truth so clearly because i am the king of procrastinators. there is the comedian named demetri martin out there. my friend showed me one of his skits. he was doing it with a flip chart. at one point he showed a pie chart for procrastination. he showed a totally blank page. although i found this really funny, it kinda hit me hard to, because i realized how bad (or how good) at procrastinating i was.
to many times do we convince ourselves to deviate from what is really important can wait. or we plan to long about how to go about it and never go for it. someone who i cannot for the life of me remember said, "why waste your whole life planning, when you can just make it up as you go along?" if only we all had the mentality. why don't we? maybe it is because we are afraid to make mistakes, so we never give ourselves the opportunity and never move forward. if i know anything about math, three steps forwards and two steps backwards is still a step in the right direction. yes we will screw up, we are human, we all fall short. but we can learn from it and move on. thats how we gain knowledge and experience. if you've ever noticed, its the ones who have gone through the most who are the wisest. so don't put your actions off, because tomorrow never comes. i will leave you with these two quotes to think on (or act on, whichever you may choose). i just edited these quotes a little to fit our subject.
"talking about (life), is like dancing about architecture."
-Elvis Costello (the word life originally was the word music)
"good things come to those who wait," but great things come to those who act.
(i know that that was not the original context for that quote, but when i edited it and put it into this context it fit rather well)
and one last quote:
"when all is said and done, more is said than done."
